In the old days, from the Manning to the Mighty Clarence River a wild breed of man roamed the country. They were wood choppers and sought the magnicent red cedar trees that graced our inland coast. They were steely, uncomprimising characters, who ruled the rugged untamed country.

The descendants of yesteryears wild men now take to the rugby fields on the Mid North Coast.

Beware the AXEMAN, as he loves nothing more than to chop down some tall timber.

Robbie Deans Australian Wallaby Coach to Visit MNC for Junior Development 

MNC JRU is delighted to confirm that Robbie Deans is visiting us to promote junior rugby on the MNC. Robbie will visit Coffs Harbour rugby club on the evening of Tuesday 13 March 2012 and Port Macquarie rugby club on the evening of 14 March 2012 and host a skills workshop with the junior players, coaches and teachers. Robbie will also visit a number of secondary schools between Coffs Harbour and Taree to promote rugby, in particular the new U16’s competition that will commence in term 2.

On Thursday 15 March 2012, MNC JRU is hosting a business breakfast meeting at The Westport Club in Port Macquarie where Robbie will present to businesses his experiences of leading and coaching a world class rugby team, The Wallaby’s.
